Food drive for Casper’s Cupboard – Sept. 26th

Some people give up on their best friends like Casper.

He was previously starved and neglected but now Casper is living the great life with his new owner and will never feel the horrific pain of hunger again.

Ladies, this is why we volunteer. To help those who cannot help themselves.

Fox News followed Casper’s story beginning with the removal from the original owners to the placement in a happy healthy home and continued to follow the owners who did this through the justice system and into jail. The male owner was sentenced to 19 months in jail and the female owner was sentenced to probation. Time has yet to be served…

Casper’s Cupboard

Through the Food Assistance Program “Casper’s Cupboard” HSTB has been able to help hundreds of families keep their pets while going through financial hardship. We know no one wants to surrender their pets because they can’t afford to feed them and Casper’s Cupboard at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay is here to help by providing free pet food to families who are unable to.

Pet food for Casper’s Cupboard is stocked from donations of concerned individuals, families and organizations. While planning our event I visited the shelter. At 2pm all of the cat food was gone and only 10 bags of dog food were left but there were 27 people in the lobby waiting for a bag. Everyone gets the same amount and sometimes, like that day, some go home empty handed.

NTJWC is hosting a food drive for Casper’s Cupboard at Texas Roadhouse in Wesley Chapel. We will be collecting food for cats and dogs.

Petco in Wesley Chapel has agreed to match the food donations we receive. Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of sales by attendees to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

We will have entertainment for children and adults including face painting, balloon artists, coloring contests, peanut racing and Breslers will be passing out ice cream samples. We will also have a raffle for Texas Roadhouse gift cards and Petco swag bags.

Please join us for good a good time and a great cause Sunday September 26th 11:30 am until 8:00pm with a bag of food and a smile.
