  • Special Santa

    Special Santa 2009

  • Special Santa – to benefit underprivileged families 1 to 2 local schools.

Every year as the holidays approach the New Tampa Junior Woman’s Club gears up for their annual “Special Santa” project. Working with the social worker from Mort elementary school, the club works to provide holiday assistance to needy families. In 2009,r NTJWC provided a complete outfit, socks and shoes for each of the 40 children along with gift items from each child’s wish list.

“Every year we’re amazed at the generosity of the New Tampa area residents and businesses who donate time and gifts to fulfill the wishes of these children.” After all that’s what this season is about…helping others.

  • Heavenly Hats to benefit chemotherapy patient.

NTJWC donated about 30 hats to this great organization in 2010!

Heavenly Hats is a non-profit organization that donates new hats to cancer patients who lose their hair due to cancer or other medical conditions. The hats boost patients’ self-esteem and give them the courage that is needed in their battle against cancer.

  • Meal preparation at the Ronald McDonald House in Tampa

We prepared dinner for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House next to Tampa General.

  • Mother’s Day baskets for The Spring

There are about sixty (60) Bay Area children who had an awesome Easter surprise thanks to the New Tampa Junior Woman’s Club, Chairman, Yolanda Wright, and her Co-Chair, Jessie Martin! These ladies coordinated the project and with the help of volunteers shopped in order to fill and deliver sixty (60) Easter baskets with candy and other goodies for the age-appropriate baskets! The baskets all made it to The Spring of Tampa Bay, a domestic violence shelter for women and their children.

  • March of Dimes Walk for Faith golf tournament

We will be sponsoring a hole for the 5th annual March of Dimes Golf Open at Emerald Greens Resort. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
