We are raising awareness and providing opportunities to make a difference throughout the world. Specifically United Nations programs concerning women and children.
This year’s projects included:
- World Food Day
We sent $200 to Food for the Poor to purchase 1000 lbs of beans and rice which are essential sources of protein and carbohydrates for hungry families. Food for Poor is a Florida-based four star charity and the number one international relief and development charity in the USA feeding 2 million poor people every day throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
- HEIFER International
We are purchasing a pig for HEIFER International with the $90 raised at Fire Safety Day with the piggy raffle!
- Free the Slaves- Legal Assistance Against Traffickers
The club donated a check for $312 to Free the Slaves in January 2010 to help pay the legal fees for twenty women who are seeking justice against their former traffickers. For more information go to www.freetheslaves.net.
- Haiti Earthquake
NTJWC sent a check for $200 to GFWC Headquarters to help in rescue and recovery efforts. To make a personal donation go to www.GFWC.org.
- Operation Smile
NTJWC donated $240 in March 2010 to this fantastic organization.
- Trick or Treat for UNICEF
We are donated $419.64 thanks to our $200 budgeted amount plus what our members collected. Great job!!
