On Saturday, August 19th from 9am-12pm, the New Tampa Junior Woman’s Club were excited to volunteer with Feeding Tampa Bay. In Tampa Bay, there are more than 700,000 people who lack consistent and easy access to nutritionally adequate food. Many who struggle to find adequate food are working adults, children and the elderly. Feeding Tampa Bay’s mission is to change lives one meal at a time by leading our community to fight hunger. They partner with local charities such as our club and many others to distribute emergency food supplies. They have also developed “Mobile Pantries” to bring nutritious food to designated “food deserts” – areas where quality, affordable foods are lacking. We had a great time volunteering and partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay! Please visit their website at http://feedingtampabay.org to learn about their organization.
